An automated WordPress update failed – Fixed! Had a client with this message in a panic and thought I’d share the easy solution. You have tried updating again but that didn’t work either, now what? Head into your cPanel and ensure you check the ‘Show hidden files’ box. Look for a file in the home directory of the site called .hidden and delete it. Run the update. The real reason you got this : A cookie is set when upgrading. It *should* auto delete when the upgrade works (or fails) or it naturally expires in 10 mins. Sometimes, it does not expire and …
